![]() To prove that this isn’t confirmation bias, let’s consider some counterarguments if we assume Noah’s sheathe were unrelated to Pneuma: ![]() With all of this information supporting Noah’s Blade being forged from Matthew’s gauntlets, it’s gotten to the point where it explains so much that I can’t see any alternative explanation for Noah’s sheathe. If Mio weren’t related to Nia or Rex, they easily could’ve used multiple Twin Ring Arts from Mòrag and/or Zeke to fill out the remaining Zephyr Arts, but they didn’t. That’s what told me that Mio is so obviously their daughter since the other normal Arts on Zephyr aren’t related to XC2 Twin Rings whatsoever. Butterfly Blade is an Art used only by Nia (whose default Blade is Dromarch), and Wide Slash is an Art used only by Rex. In XC2, Arts of the same weapon were different depending on the Driver. While those are only two out of the five available normal Arts, it’s the fact that the two Arts happen to be Butterfly Blade and Wide Slash that stands out to me. It’s similar to how Mio’s default Zephyr class has two Arts that are Twin Ring Arts from XC2. I had already believed Pneuma was involved seeing as Noah’s sheathe has a green glow (which Guernica noticed before deciding to use the Ouroboros Stone on our main cast), can block a Ferronis laser, and doesn’t resemble child Noah’s original Blade (meaning Riku probably made the sheathe), but the new context surrounding Infinity Blade is the clincher. With two separate instances of Pneuma being the primary factor behind Infinity Blade (both in XC2 and FR), it signals enough of a pattern that makes it more than clear to me that Pneuma’s core is in Noah’s sheathe. At first, I didn’t see how Noah’s sword had a connection to Rex or Pneuma, but then I remembered that Rex’s Infinity Blade specifically has him combining both his swords into a green Pneuma-like sword. ![]() Infinity Blade is the name of Pneuma’s NG+ Level 4 Special in XC2, so before FR, I just thought it was a mere reuse of a cool name with no relation (like how Sena’s Big Impact is named after an Art from Rex and Pandoria) since that’s common in XC3 however, Infinity Blade appears again in FR through Rex’s Talent Art. I don’t know why it only hit me just now several weeks after finishing Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed, but the final piece of evidence that has me 100% convinced that Noah’s sheathe in XC3 is forged from Matthew’s gauntlets (with the Pneuma core) is the fact that Noah’s unique Talent Art when first unveiling Lucky Seven in Chapter 2 is called Infinity Blade. ![]()
